The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 13th Formation Day of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

- Schools' safety is important for effective learning and teaching.
- Thousands of children around the world have been badly affected simply because their schools were not safe.
- It is, therefore, imperative that a safe environment for our children is created, starting from their homes to their schools and back.
- Measures to increase awareness and ensure better implementation of the School Safety guidelines were discussed at the event.
What is NDMA?
- It is an agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs
- Its primary purpose is to coordinate response to natural or man-made disasters and for capacity-building in disaster resiliency and crisis response.
- The Prime Minister is the ex-officio chairperson of it.
