Shakti, Garud Squads Launched in Noida

Noida and Greater Noida Police has launched its two services – Shakti and Garud.
It aims to improve law and order situation in the regions.
The initiatives were launched by the Additional Director General of Uttar Pradesh police, Anand Kumar

About Garud & Shakti

  • Shakti is a squad of 40 women constables, who will be patrolling on 20 scooters 
  • They will patrol around schools, colleges, markets, malls and factories to check eve-teasers and those who misbehave with women. 
  • Women constables will have white and black colored Hero Duet scooters with Shakti and Uttar Pradesh police written on them.
  • Garud is the male squad which has been given 30 bikes.
  • Constables are ordered to act swiftly and book the offenders at the nearest police station.
  • Garud will have 30 Hero Achiever bikes.
  • The bikes and scooters have been provided to police by Hero MotoCorp under the scheme of corporate social responsibility.
