PM will dedicate to the Nation First ever All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on Ayurveda Day on 17th October, 2017
- The institute is set up along the lines of AIIMS
- It will work as an apex institute under Ministry of AYUSH.
- The All India Institute of Ayurveda will bring synergy between the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda and modern diagnostic tools and technology.
Ministry of AYUSH
- AYUSH means- Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unnani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
- This department was formed in March 1995 as the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy (ISM&H).
- AYUSH received its current name in March 2003.
- That time it was operated under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- The Ministry of AYUSH was formed with effect from 9 November 2014 by elevation of the Department of AYUSH.
