Madhya Pradesh has launched a new scheme to provide the compensation for agriculture products whenever its price fall below the announced minimum support prices (MSP) by the central government.
- The scheme is called the “Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana” or the Price Deficit Financing Scheme.
- Initially, compensation for eight crops including oil seeds and some pulses etc is offered.
- The farmers are supposed to register themselves with mandis to leverage the benefits of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.
- The aim of the scheme is to encourage the farmers to cultivate more oil seeds and pulses products in the state.
- 8 crops which would be included under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in Madhya Pradesh are
- Soybean, Groundnut, Til, Ramtil. Maize, Moong, Urad, Tuar Daal
