“Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana” Launched in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh has launched a new scheme to provide the compensation for agriculture products whenever its price fall below the announced minimum support prices (MSP) by the central government.


  • The scheme is called the  “Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana” or the Price Deficit Financing Scheme.
  • Initially, compensation for eight crops including oil seeds and some pulses etc is offered. 
  • The farmers are supposed to register themselves with mandis to leverage the benefits of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.
  •  The aim of the scheme is to encourage the farmers to cultivate more oil seeds and pulses products in the state.
  •  8 crops which would be included under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in Madhya Pradesh are
  • Soybean, Groundnut, Til, Ramtil. Maize, Moong, Urad, Tuar Daal
