French Defence Minister in India on 2-day Visit

French Minister for the Armed Forces, Florence Parly is on a two-day visit to India.
This visit will strengthen France’s fast developing defence cooperation with India.

Highlights of the Visit

• She will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Defence, Nirmala Sitharaman to plan the upcoming visit of the French President Emmanuel Macron.
• A delegation-level talks with her Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman was held in which defence operational cooperation, joint exercises of the armed forces, counter-terrorism, the industrial and technological partnership under the Make in India initiative was discussed.
• The joint venture plans to develop several key components for Rafale Fighter Jets under the Make in India initiative. 
• Florence Parly will board the INS Kalvari, the first of the six Scorpene submarines
