- Iceland has secured its place for first finals in Russia next year as winners of Group I.
- The previous smallest country to have reached the finals was Trinidad & Tobago, in 2006
- Iceland will be one of 32 nations at the World Cup in 2018

- It is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018
- This will be the first World Cup with Iceland and Panama as participants.
