Mahindra & Mahindra launched a programme, Prerna with an aim to empower women working in the agriculture sector.
- Under this programme, Mahindra will try to empower women by promoting efficient and ergonomic farm tools and equipment.
- Initially, it will be launched in Odisha to impact the lives of over 1,500 families across 30-plus villages
- The project will address these issues of the insufficient and unsuitable tools with the promotion of women-friendly, efficient and ergonomic farm tools and equipment.
- The project was launched on the occasion of Mahila Kisan Diwas which is observed on 15th October.
- Prerna is a collaborative measure of Mahindra & Mahindra, the Central Institution for Women in Agriculture (CIWA), a department of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and the NGO Pradan (Professional Assistance for Development Action).
