Mridul Kumar Appointed as High Commissioner to Malaysia

Mridul Kumar has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Malaysia.


  • He is currently working as the  Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs
  • He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
  • Mridul Kumar will replace  T.S. Tirumurti who assumed his current assignment as the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia on 20th December 2013.

  • The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government.

  • He is an elected monarch chosen from the hereditary rulers of the nine Malay states every five years. The head of government is the prime minister. Current President is Najib Razak
