Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has formed a committee that will frame the strategy to frame sports university in Patiala.
- The committee will be headed by Olympian Randhir Singh
- The committee will work under the guidance of Sorts and Youth Affairs Department and will work out the modalities for setting up the proposed university
- the prime focus will be to work out the modalities for setting up the proposed university in and around Patiala.
- Other members of the committee are: Olympian Pargat Singh, along with former Vice Chancellor of Lakshmibai National University of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior, J S Narula, and former Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Sports University Dr L S Ranawat
