- He a 1984-batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IPS officer.
- Modi succeeds Sharad Kumar.
- He has worked with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for 10 years
- He had worked with Cabinet Secretariat between 1991 and 2002
- He has worked as Additional Director of CBI
- He was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 200.
- He was conferred with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the year 2008
About National Investigation Agency
- NIA is India's premier anti-terror organisation.
- It acts as the Central Counter-Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency.
- It came into existence with the enactment of the National Investigation Agency Act 2008 on 31 December 2008.
