Maharashtra is the “most corrupt state” for the third year in a row according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data
- Of the total corruption cases in India, 22.9% were from Maharashtra.
- The state is followed by Odisha, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
- Delhi topped the list the most unsafe cities. accounting for nearly 40 per cent of rapes reported, 33 per cent of crimes against women and the highest crime rate in 2016.
- Maharashtra was second in crimes against foreigners, after Delhi.
- Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of crimes against women.
- Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of cybercrime cases at followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka.
