- The exercise comes after North Korea tested Hwasong-15 which is considered to be its most advanced and powerful Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) as part of its weapons programme.
- The five-day long exercise will involve 230 aircraft, including F-22 Raptor stealth jet fighters, and tens of thousands of troops
- The exercise will feature six F-22 Raptor stealth fighters and F-35 jets
- 12,000 U.S. Marines, Navy, and other personnel will join South Korean troops in the drills.
- The US-South Korean drill designed to boost their readiness and operational capability and to ensure peace and security on the Korean peninsula.
