The President of India, Mr Ram Nath Kovind awarded Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2017 to 44 people.
- These series of Awards include-
- Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 7 people
- Jeevan Raksha Padak to 24 people
- Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 13
- Jeevan Raksha Padak to 24 people.
- Seven awards are posthumous.
- Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are given to a person for the meritorious act of human nature in saving the life of a person.
- The award is given in the following three categories-
- Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak
- Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak
- Jeevan Raksha Padak.
- Persons of either sex in all walks of life are eligible for these awards and these awards can also be conferred posthumously.
- The Award includes a medal, a certificate signed by the Home Minister along with a lump sum monetary allowance.
- It is presented to the awardee by the respective State Government to which the awardee belongs.
