The Karnataka government announced that Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE) will be held from 28th February 2018.
- It will be a three days event which will witness participation from 400 delegates from around 25 countries.
- It will be the largest B2B event in the country. For the first time ever India will have such a big event for the tourism and travel sector.
- The event aims to project Karnataka globally so as to attract tourists by emphasising on the state’s wildlife, historic monuments, UNESCO world heritage sites etc.
- An overall budget of Rs 7 crore is to be spent on this event.
- KITE would witness participation from around 100 international buyers and 250 national or domestic buyers.
- The event will also include a blogathon which will be attended by international travel bloggers to promote Karnataka tourism.
- There would be a separate start-up pavilion for promoting new technologies and innovations in the tourism sector.
