India is going to host the India Mobile Congress (IMC) between 25-27 October 2018. This is going to be the second edition of the Indian Mobile Congress after the one held in 2017.
- The India Mobile Congress 2018, is to be hosted by the Department of telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
- IMC was launched in 2017 to provide the platform for policymakers, industry and regulators to engage in meaningful deliberations to drive the future direction of the telecom sector.
- The first IMC held in September 2017 was attended by around 2,000 delegates, 32,000 visitors, 152 speakers, 100 exhibitors and 100 start-ups.

- The theme of second edition of IMC is NEW DIGITAL HORIZONS Connect, Create, innovate.
- It expects participation of more than 200,000 professionals from telecom industry, encompassing 5G, start-up ecosystem, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Cities and allied industry sectors.
- The conclave will comprise of Ministerial & Partner Programs in Digital India, Smart City, Emerging Technologies, Make in India Projects, Skill Harmonization, Business Innovation, Knowledge Sharing, etc.
- There will be a technology showcase offering a glimpse into Virtual Reality, Connected Cars, m-Health, Smart Wearables, Smart Home, Artificial Intelligence, Drones, Robotics, Smart Energy, Internet of Things, Block chain, Machine Vision, Cloud Computing, Holography etc.
- The exhibition would feature more than 1,300 exhibitors.
- IMC 2018 we will also see participation of countries from ASEAN (Association for Southeast Asian Countries) and BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) besides US, Canada and European Union (EU).
