The Russian embassy announced that its government has decided to honour PM Modi with the 'Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle' which is Russia's highest state decoration.

  • The embassy said the Indian PM is being decorated with the award for exceptional services in promoting special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries.

Other Awards or Honours conferred on PM Modi recently:

  • Earlier this month, PM Modi was conferred with the Zayed Medal by the United Arab Emirates - the Gulf country's highest decoration - for boosting the relations between the two countries.
  • PM Modi was given the Philip Kotler Presidential Award in January in recognition of his outstanding leadership.
  • The Citation mentioned several initiatives taken by his government like Make in India, Start-up India, Digital India, and Swachh Bharat, "which have positioned India as one of the most lucrative manufacturing and business destinations in the world."
  • In October last year, PM Modi was conferred with the Seoul Peace Prize in recognition of his contribution to the growth of Indian and world economies.
  • The award citation credited what came to be termed as 'Modinomics' for bringing down social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor.
