IAF signs Rs 300 cr deal to buy 100 more SPICE bombs

The Indian Air Force signed a deal with Israel to buy around 100 'SPICE 2000' bombs, worth around Rs 300 crore.

About the SPICE bomb:

• It has a standoff range of 60 kilometres.
• It is manufactured by Israeli defence firm Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

• SPICE bombs were used by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to attack the madrasa of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot, Pakistan, on February 26, in response to the terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama which resulted in the martyrdom of 40 CRPF personnel.
