- She produced the best time of her season so far by clocking 4 minute 12.65 seconds (4:12.65s).
- Chitra finished first in Folksam Grand Prix ahead of Kenya's Mercy Cherono, who won 5000m gold in Commonwealth Games 2014.
- She is also a gold medal winner in Asian Championships held in Doha, Qatar in April 2019.
