  • Armstrong, Aldrin and Michael Collins (the 3rd crew member) took off from Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida in the spaceflight named Apollo 11
  • NASA showed the streaming footage of the launch online on the anniversary, which was watched by half a billion people 50 years ago
