About Aparna Kumar:
- Aparna Kumar is an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Dehra Dun Frontier DIG.
- She is a 2002 batch Uttar Pradesh (UP) Cadre IPS officer.
- She has been posted at Northern Frontier Headquarters of ITBP in Dehradun.
- She also became 1st woman IPS DIG and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officer to successfully complete the South Pole expedition.
- She is also the first woman IPS officer to reach the South Pole on January 13th after walking 111 kilometres with 35 kilograms of equipment on her back.
- In 2016, she became the first officer of the All India Services to successfully scale Antarctica's highest peak Mount Vinson Massif followed by Mount Manaslu in Nepal in 2017.
