- Max Verstappen clinched the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim and with this he now has the second title of the Formula One season.
- Mary Kom and Simranjit Kaur won gold in 23rd President's Cup Boxing Tournament in 51kg category and 60kg category respectively. The tournament was held at Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.
- IPS officer VK Johri, a 1984-batch Indian Police Service officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the next Director General of Border Security Force. He is presently serving as the Special Secretary in RAW, under the Cabinet Secretariat and will take over from incumbent Rajni Kant Mishra.
- Indian Railways' Northeast Frontier Railway zone has started an initiative with a special portion of the SLR coach with pink colour for women passengers’ safety and security. The coach is coloured pink under Section 58 of the Railways Act, 1989 which provides earmarking of accommodation for female passengers in trains.
- Flipkart has set up its first offline mode Furniture Experience centre at Bengaluru with the aim to give its customers touch-and-feel format.
- Padmashri Sudarsan Pattnaik, an International sand artist has won People's Choice Prize at Boston International Sand Art championship in the US. He was representing India at the festival and bagged the award for his sand art on plastic pollution with the message 'Stop Plastic Pollution, Save Our Ocean'.
