Current context: 28th edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) is conducted from 5th September to 15th September 2019.

- The exercise is held between the Indian Navy (IN) and the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).
- His Majesty’s Thailand Ship (HTMS) Kraburi, Indian Naval (IN) Ship Kesari and Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both the navies are participating in the CORPAT.
- Since 2003, the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and the Andaman and Nicobar Command have been participating in the exercise.
- The aim of CORPAT is to ensure effective implementation of United Nations Conventions on Laws of the Sea (UNCLOS) which specify regulations regarding-
- protection and conservation of natural resources
- conservation of the marine environment
- prevention of unregulated or illegal fishing activity/piracy/ drug trafficking
- prevention of smuggling, illegal immigration by exchanging information
- conduct of Search and Rescue operations at sea
