- India will host the 3-day Economic Dialogue which will discuss various issues, including infrastructure, energy and pharmaceuticals and others.
- The dialogue would be held between the NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar (Indian Side) and the Chairman of National Development and Reforms Commission (Chinese side).
- The dialogue is held annually alternately at the capital cities of the two countries for enabling ease of doing business and facilitating bilateral trade and investment flows.
- The bilateral trade between India and China stood at $87 billion in 2018-19 and the trade deficit at $50 billion(in favour of China).
- The dialogue was initiated during the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to India in December 2010.
- The 5th SED was held in Beijing on 14th April 2018.
