- Indian Prime Minister Modi was conferred the "Global Goalkeeper" award for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The scheme was launched by Modi government on 2nd October 2014.
- The 5th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019 (since its inception in 2015) will be held at Kolkata from 5th to 8th November, 2019 with the theme of this year “RISEN India – Research, Innovation, and Science Empowering the Nation”. The IISF is jointly organised by the Ministry of science & technology and Vijnana Bharati (Vibha).
