Current context: India is going to take part in the TSENTR 2019, conducted by the Central Military Commission of Russia.
India to take part in TSENTR 2019 
  • TSENTR 2019 is a part of the annual series of exercises that forms a part of the Russian Armed Forces' annual training cycle.
  • The exercise is held every year at one of the four Russia’s military Commands namely, Kavkas (South), Zapad (West), Vostok (East) and TSENTR (Centre).
  • This year the exercise would begin from 9th September and end on 23rd September at Donguz training ranges, Orenburg, Russia.
  • The exercise is widening itself to be of International Character, with Belarus participating in ZAPAD-2017 and China and Mongolia participating in VOSTOK-2018.
  • This year the invitation has been extended to 9 other countries including India.
  • The exercise aims at enhancing military security in the strategic Central Asian region by training the participating armies into modules. The 1st module includes repelling airstrikes, counter-terror operations, etc. and the 2nd module has focused on offensive operations.
