  • Kayakalp Awards were given by the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to the community health centres, Central Government institutions and private hospitals for maintaining high sanitation and hygiene standards in public health facilities.
  • Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, on his visit to Comoros, has signed an agreement to extend a Line of Credit of over $60 million to Comoros, in which $41.6 million is for setting up of 18 MW Power Plant in Moroni (capital of Comoros) and $20 million for the procurement of High-Speed Interceptor Boats.

  • Dutee Chand won gold in the women's 100m semifinals at the 59th National Open Athletics Championships, held in Ranchi. She smashed her own national record of 11.26 second that she had set at the Asian Championships with 11.22 seconds.
