  • Sixth-seeded Manju Rani won the silver medal in the 48-kilogram category, in World Women's Boxing Championships at Ulan-Ude in Russia. Six-time champion MC Mary Kom signed off with bronze medal at the tournament.
  • Asian Development Bank, ADB has signed 190 million dollar loan agreement with India for improving road connectivity in Rajasthan. 754 kilometres of state highways will be upgraded under the agreement in 14 districts of Rajasthan.
  • Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya has become the first person to complete marathon under two hours in the Austrian capital of Vienna. He has ran 42km in just 1hr 59 min and 40 sec at Vienna's Prater-Hauptallee.

  • The first visa-free corridor between India and Pakistan since Independence, Kartarpur Corridor, will be inaugurated by PM Modi on 8th November 2019. The corridor will connect Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab with Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur.
  • Typhoon Hagibis landed in the Izu Peninsula, southwest of Tokyo, Japan on 13th October 2019 and is the strongest storm the country has faced since Kanogawa Typhoon in 1958.
