  • Yashasvi Jaiswal (India) became the youngest cricketer in the world to score a double century in One Day cricket.
  • The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying released the 20th Livestock Census -2019 and as per the census the population of livestock has increased to over 535 million which is 4.6% over the Livestock Census-2012. West Bengal reported the highest increase in the livestock population among the states.
  • Government has started probing WalMart-owned Flipkart and Amazon for alleged predatory pricing for selling products at discounts that resulted in retail sector incurring major loss. The investigation will be made to verify that whether individual brands or the e-commerce firms are offering the discounts.

  • The 3rd edition of the four day festival “Shirui Lily Festival, 2019” was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture Prahlad Singh Patel in Manipur.
  • The Kerala government has decided to extend the Maternity Benefit Act benefits to teachers and other staff of private educational institutions including the unaided sector. With the act coming into force, Kerala would become the first state in the country to provide maternity benefits in the private educational sector.
  • The Delhi government is implementing the odd-even road rationing scheme from 4th to 15th November 2019 for combating high levels of air pollution in Delhi-NCR. The scheme is applicable from 8 AM to 8 PM, except on Sundays and put a fine of Rs 4000 on violation.
  • The road connecting Goindwal Sahib and terminating near Taran Taran in Punjab is declared as NH-703AA and named as Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Marg to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev.
