- The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has developed “Green Crackers” for the formulations for reduced emission light and sound emitting crackers with a 30% reduction in particulate matter.
- The name of Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna was added to the National War Memorial. He was killed by JKLF terrorists in 1990 with Twenty-seven bullets were pumped into his body. The three armed services approve the names of the soldiers to include it into the memorial.
- The 55th Anniversary of India's flagship capacity building programme - Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation is being organized by the Development Partnership Administration Division of the External Affairs Ministry. ITEC Programme was launched on 15 September 1964 by the Ministry.
