- Wholesale prices based inflation (WPI) eased to 0.16% in October as compared to 0.33% in September 2019. The drop was due to the fall in prices of manufactured items and subdued prices of non-food articles.
- Retail inflation surged to 4.62% in October 2019 on account of higher food prices. The food basket spiked to 7.89 % in October 2019 as against 5.11 % in September.
