- This is a 14 days long joint training exercise and the People's Liberations Army (PLA) contingent from the Tibet Military Command and Indian Army contingent will participate in the exercise.
- The theme of the exercise is “counter-terrorism” under United Nations mandate.
- The exercise aims to share the experience between both the contingents in counter - terrorism operations in Semi-Urban Terrain and Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.
- The Chinese contingent is led by Col Hu Chunguang while the Indian contingent is led by Col KJ Singh.
- The joint military exercise 2019 marks the 70th year since the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and China.
