- The decision was taken at a High-Level Committee meeting headed by Home Minister Amit Shah.
- The financial assistance has been given to the states of Madhya Pradesh (Rs 1750 crore), Maharashtra (Rs 957 crore), Assam (Rs 617 crore), Himachal Pradesh (Rs 285 crore), Karnataka (Rs 1870 crore), Tripura (Rs 63 crore) and Uttar Pradesh (Rs 367 crore).
- The amount is given by the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
- The Central Government has so far released 8,068 crore rupees to 27 states in the current financial year, as Central share from State Disaster Response Fund.
