- The delegation was led by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, and India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry & Railways, Piyush Goyal.
- The India-Brazil Business Forum was organised by industry body ASSOCHAM, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.
- Major decisions taken at the India-Brazil Business Forum include:
- India-Brazil set a target to achieve $ 15 billion trade by 2022.
- 15 MoUs of cooperation has been signed on investments, trade facilitation, social security, agriculture, defence and double taxation etc.
- Both countries welcomed the announcement for visa-free travel between the two countries.
- India expects to run the entire network of railways on electricity by 2024.
- Boost tourism and people to people interaction in various fields such as yoga and Ayurveda.
- India and Brazil share relationship at the bilateral level as well as plurilateral fora like BRICS, BASIC, G-20, IBSA, International Solar Alliance, UN, UNESCO and WIPO.
