Current context: The 23rd edition of the annual National Conference on e-Governance has begun at National Sports Club of India (NSCI) Worli, Mumbai on 07 Feb, 2020.

  • The two-day conference on e-governance has been organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievance (DARPG), and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) in association with Department of Information & Technology, Government of Maharashtra (for the year 2020).
  • The 2020 conference focused on encouraging and improving the delivery of public services by promoting the use of digital platforms.
  • Health, Agriculture, Education and Land are the priority sectors identified for Public Digital Platforms.
  • Government of Maharashtra also launched the ‘Blockchain Sandbox –Maharashtra’, which will be used for various applications to enhance efficiency in e-Governance.
  • The meet emphasised on the four major digital platforms which have emerged broadly over the past few years, namely:
    1. Aadhaar
    2. Unique Payment Identity (UPI)
    3. Goods and Service Tax (GST)
    4. Public Financial Management System (PFMS)
