  • The Ministry of Textiles is organising KALA KUMBH - Handicrafts Thematic Exhibition in various parts of the country, with an objective to promote Geographical Indication (GI) crafts and heritage of India.
  • The ‘70th Berlin International Film Festival’ will be held from 20th February to 1st March 2020 in Berlin, Germany. Three Indian feature films, namely Pushpendra Singh’s Laipla Aur Satt Geet, Prateek Vats’ Eeb Allay Ooo!, Akhsay Indikar’s “Sthalpuran” and one short documentary film of Ekta Mittal’s “Gumnaam Din” have been selected this year.

  • The Government of India has decided to rename 'The Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses' (IDSA) as ‘Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses’. Late Manohar Parrikar was Raksha Mantri from November 9, 2014 –March 14, 2017.
  • The 22nd edition of the world language database Ethnologue was topped by the English language, Chines Mandarin is at the second position, Hindi comes at third position with 615 million speakers.
  • Koneru Humpy claimed the Cairns Cup Chess Tournament that was held at St Louis in the USA.
  • The International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that India will host next year's Junior Men's World Cup. India will be hosting the tournament for the second time, having staged it in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in 2016.
