Current context: The ESPN India Awards 2019 was announced on 20th February 2020.
 ESPN India Awards 2019
  • The ESPN.in Awards recognise the best individual and team performances in Indian sport on a calendar-year basis.
  • The winners were selected on the basis of votes by a 16-member panel that comprises of the sports fraternity
  • Cricket is not included in these awards as it is already covered by ESPN Cricinfo's annual awards.
  • Shuttler P V Sindhu won the “ESPN's Female Sportsperson of the Year award” on 20th February 2020.
  • She has won the award for a third consecutive time.
  • Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary bagged the honour of the ESPN's male Sportsperson of the Year award.
  • Saurabh won a total of five World Cup gold medals at the ISSF World Cup 2019 along with a bronze at the World Cup in Rio.
  • Sprinter Dutee Chand became the first winner of the “Courage Award” for being inspirational both on and off the field.
  • Chess player Koneru Humpy won the award for the “Comeback of the Year”.
  • Wrestler Deepak Punia bagged coveted ESPN's Emerging Sports Person of the Year award.
  • Badminton Coach Pullela Gopichand claimed the Coach of the Year award, for nurturing two Olympic medalists in Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu.
  • P V Sindhu's World Championship win against Japan's Nozomi Okuhara, the first by an Indian in badminton, has also been selected as the Moment of the Year.
  • Manu Bhaker-Saurabh Chaudhary grabbed the Team of the Year honour.
  • Manasi Joshi won Differently-abled Athlete of the Year/Para-Athlete of the Year award.
  • Hockey player Balbir Singh Senior, has been conferred with ESPN's Lifetime Achievement Award.
