  • The Uttar Pradesh government has launched three ambitious schemes for skill development and employment generation for youths in the state on 12th March 2020. The three schemes launched are namely: Kaushal Satrang, Yuva Hub and Apprenticeship scheme.
  • The Parliament has approved the Mineral Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 on 12th March 2020 that envisages curtailing time lag in the operationalization of the coal blocks even after their allocation.

  • New coronavirus quarantine facilities have been set up in seven cities across the country at places including Jodhpur, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Kolkata, Jaisalmer, Chennai and Deolali.
  • The State Bank of India has said that it will buy shares worth 7,250 crore rupees of Yes Bank in accordance with the draft reconstruction scheme envisaged by the Reserve Bank of India. SBI’s shareholding in Yes Bank will remain within 49 per cent of the paid-up capital.
  • The Hall of fame, located in St. Augustine, Florida, released a statement to induct American golfer Tiger Woods into the World Golf Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021.
