  • Bangladesh has announced that tocontribute $ 1.5 million to the proposed Corona emergency fund for the prevention and combat of COVID-19 pandemic in the SAARC region. The idea of an emergency fund to fight COVID 19 was mooted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th March 2020, with India contributing $10 million.
  • The rupee fell to a record low of 76.32 per US dollar, closing at 76.29, against previous close of 75.19 on 23rd March 2020.

  • Parthasarathi Mukherjee, a former CEO with Lakshmi Vilas Bank(LVB) has bought 5 % of microlending firm Uttrayan Financial Services.
  • The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has approved financial assistance to the Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC2.0) on 21st March 2020. The EMC2.0 Scheme would support the setting up of both Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) and Common Facility Centres (CFCs).
