Current Context: CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) has come up with the decision of providing protective gear and healthcare essentials to 40,000 staff working at airports and at Delhi metro once they resume their work after the lockdown period gets over.
- The decision was taken because the CISF personnel will be having close physical interaction with lakhs of passengers once airports and the Delhi Metro re-start operations.
- The decision was taken when the two of the CISF personnel in Mumbai were tested positive from Coronavirus infection.
- Hence the first step for this taken by CISF is that they have an increased number of beds in 349 units of isolation ward so that more personnel can be accommodated if their comes any requirement. Also, resources like better masks, gloves and sanitization facilities will be provided to the personnel once they resume working.
