Current Context: Global report on food crisis was released by the UN World Food Programme.
- As per the report, there are around 55 food-crisis countries which consist of 135 million people facing food insecurity. As per the report, 75 million children were stunted. 183 million people were classified in Stressed (IPC/CH Phase 2) conditions.
- Among 43 million living in the Middle East and Asia and 18.5 million in Latin America and the Caribbean are suffering food insecurity issues.
- This report is the result of a consensus-based and multi-partner analytical process involving 16 international humanitarian and development partners and various organisations participated all the way to United Nations World Food Programme.
