Current Context: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) Shripad Yesso Naik together launched Ayush Sanjivani mobile app and AYUSH based studies to combat COVID-19 situation.
- Ayush Sanjivani mobile app: It is developed by the ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY). The app will help to generate data on acceptance and usage of AYUSH advocacies and measures among the population and its impact on the prevention of COVID-19.
- AYUSH based studies: It is a collaborative study on Ayurveda interventions as prophylaxis(measures to prevent against disease) and standard care to COVID 19 by the Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Science & Technology through Council of Scientific & Industrial Research(CSIR) with technical support from Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) and Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). ICMR and DCGI together will support and guide AYUSH in attaining holistic health benefits of the age-old traditional medicinal knowledge of Ayurveda.
