Current Context: Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman launched INR-USD Futures and Options contracts on the two international Exchanges, namely
INR-USD Futures and Options Contracts—Launched on BSE’s India INX and NSE’s NSE-IFSC
BSE's India INX and NSE's NSE-IFSC, at GIFT International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at Gandhinagar through video conference.
  • This launching will be beneficial to the businesses in India and will be helpful in gaining economic activity and employment in India.
  • It is launched to bring international financial centers to India.
  • This move will help Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in curbing the influential impact of foreign trade centers like Dubai and Singapore in the rupee derivatives trade.
