Current Context: The government of India launched "Mission Sagar" to provide assistance to Eastern Indian Ocean Region Nations in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
"Mission Sagar”-- To Provide Assistance to Indian Ocean Region Nations
  • The mission is inspired by PM Modi’s vision of SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region)
  • The mission is carried out by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  • Under the mission, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kesari has departed for Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros, to provide Food Items, COVID related Medicines including HCQ Tablets and Special Ayurvedic Medicines with Medical Assistance Teams.
