Current Context: Indian Navy has come forward to combat COVID-19 by developing a PPE kit named as ‘NavRakshak’.
‘NavRakshak’— By Indian Navy
  • It is made from an innovative fabric material in order to provide comfort to the healthcare workers dealing and combating COVID-19 in the hot and humid condition for more than 12 hours.
  • ‘NavRakshak’ PPE kit has two main features mainly optimal protectiveness and optimal breathability. These two features are due to the usage of advanced quality non-woven fabric of specific Grams per Square Meter (GSM) with stitching techniques.
  • It is developed by Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Arnab Ghosh from Naval Medical Specialist of Innovation Cell, Institute of Naval Medicine in Mumbai.
