Current Context: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has signed a MoU with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) in order to boost the Renewable Energy Business between the two ventures.
- Both the organisation will accelerate the Renewable Energy development and usage field.
- Both the organisation will setup offshore wind and other Renewable Energy (RE) Projects in India and overseas.
- They will explore the opportunities in the areas like sustainability, storage, E-mobility and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) projects in India as well as abroad.
- The tie-up will also help ONGC in achieving its aim of adding 10GW of renewable power to its portfolio by 2040.
