Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a technology platform called CHAMPIONS (Creation and Harmonics Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength).
- This platform is for MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).
- The technology-based CHAMPIONS platform is based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the entire ICT architecture for this platform is developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) at no cost.
- CHAMPIONS platform aims to support, motivate and solve grievances if the MSME sector
- It is a one-stop-shop solution for MSMEs which will help MSMEs to maintain the current opportunities and to get new ones like medical equipment, PPWE kits, masks etc. the platform thus aims to maintain current market value of MSME as well as improve its value to the national as well as international level.
- CHAMPIONS is a technology-packed control room cum management information system which includes ICT tools, internet, telephone, video conference, AI, Machine learning and data analytics.
- It is based on real-time and its physical infrastructure is built in one of the MSME ministry’s rooms in record time.
