India Joins GPAI

Current Context: India has joined as a founding member and has launched a Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI or Gee-Pay).

• GPAI is an initiative which aims to create development and increase usage of AI across whole world.
• GPAI is the first of its kind initiative which focuses and understands revolving opportunities of Artificial Intelligence.
• Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence will help to bridge the gap between theory and practice of AI by supporting and conducting various research approach in practical manners
• Under this initiative of GPAI experts from civil societies, governments, industry and academic institutions will carry out the research on AI.
• India after joining GPAI, will promote global development in AI and will leverage its usage in in the digital technology.
• Hosting organisation for GPAI will be the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and two centers of expertise from Montreal and Paris.
