Current Context: The Karnataka Government has amended the ‘The Karnataka Industries Facilitation Act, 2002.
- The amendment is done at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
- The amendment is done with an aim to facilitate and attract investment in the state.
- As per the amendments, the industry does not need statutory permissions for the first three years to set up operations in the state.
- Permissions like approvals under multiple state laws like trade license and building plan approvals which will promote ease of doing business and will create investment in the state.
