One Sun One World One Grid—By MNRE Ministry

Current Context: Ministry of New and Renewable Energy launched an initiative called ‘One Sun One World One Grid’.

• This initiative is launched to interconnect renewable energy by sharing solar resources with more than 140 countries of West Asia and South East Asia.
• The interconnection of the grids will be achieved with the help of African Power Pools.
• This initiative aims to provide solar power to the nations who are not getting sufficient sunlight so they are unable to make use of solar power. Hence, by building a common transmission system, solar power benefits can be provided to such countries.
