Current Context: Union Minister of State of Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy has launched ‘GermiBAN’ device which kills viruses and other germs by sterilizing, sanitizing and disinfecting in large areas.
- It also acts as an air purifier in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
- The innovation idea behind this ‘GermiBAN’ device is of NEO Inventronix, Hyderabad.
- It is incubated at Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP), Women Entrepreneur Hub with the support of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog and GOI.
- It can disinfect room size of about 800sqft and neutralizes air pollution gases like Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and Sulphur oxides (Sox).
- It has UV lights, Ionizer and Ozonizer and B, C, D components which can kill 99.9% air microorganisms which are harmful to health.
